Title:  Student Pharmacist

Employment Type:  Permanent Full Time

Start your pharmacy career at Chemist Warehouse Yagoona

We are building the foundation team for our new Chemist Warehouse store in Yagoona and are looking for Student Pharmacists currently studying in years 1 to 4 of an accredited pharmacy degree, with casual opportunities available.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on community pharmacy experience while helping shape a new store from day one. You will learn alongside experienced Pharmacists in a fast-paced team focused on professional care and supporting the local community.

About the role

As a Student Pharmacist, you will work under Pharmacist supervision and perform duties in line with relevant professional standards and procedures. You will support the dispensary and wider store team while building the practical knowledge, confidence and professional skills for your future pharmacy career.

A typical day may include:

  • Assisting with customer and patient queries under Pharmacist supervision.
  • Supporting prescription intake, dispensing and prescription collection processes.
  • Providing medication and product information within your level of training and under appropriate supervision.
  • Replenishing dispensary and retail stock and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the dispensary and wider store.
  • Building your knowledge of pharmacy products, professional services and community pharmacy practice.
  • Working collaboratively with Pharmacists, Intern Pharmacists, Dispensary Assistants and the broader store team.
  • Delivering warm, respectful and helpful service to every customer and patient.

About you

You are currently studying pharmacy and are eager to turn your university learning into practical experience. You bring a positive attitude, genuine curiosity and a strong commitment to providing safe, respectful and helpful customer care.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor or Master of Pharmacy program in Australia and studying in Year 1, 2, 3 or 4.
  • A genuine interest in community pharmacy and supporting positive patient outcomes.
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions and respond positively to coaching and feedback.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy when completing tasks.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A reliable, organised and professional approach to work.
  • Confidence working in a busy environment where priorities may change throughout the day.
  • Previous pharmacy, retail or customer service experience is highly regarded but not essential.

Learning, development and recognition

We are committed to helping Student Pharmacists build confidence and prepare for the next stage of their careers. You will receive practical guidance from experienced Pharmacists, on-the-job training and opportunities to develop your dispensing, patient-care, operational and communication skills.

Depending on your stage of study and career goals, future pathways may include the Pharmacy Student STEP-UP Program, the Sigma Intern Pharmacist Training Program, professional development and leadership opportunities across our pharmacy network.
