Primary Focus

The primary focus and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Provide high quality and accurate administration and specialist advice in relation to the WorkCover functions of Injury and Claims Management, WorkCover Premiums, WorkCover Policies and WorkCover Payroll Processing
  • Provide support and assistance as needed to the wider WorkCover and WHS Team

 

The position reports to the:

  • WorkCover Team Leader – For allocation of work and performance of their day-to-day duties
  • WHS Manager – Regarding overall performance, conduct and delivery of outcomes

The incumbent will need to ensure all responsibilities are completed successfully and delivered within the timelines specified.

Functional Responsibilities

Injury & claims management coordination and administration

  • End to end claims management; not limited to:
  • Return to Work Planning
  • All administrative functions incl. document upload, remittance & invoicing
  • Assist injured workers, where safe and practicable, to remain at work while they recover or return to work as soon as possible
  • Monitor the progress of claims and the employee’s recovery
  • Keep up to date and detailed notes throughout the duration of the of the claim until closure
  • Post claim closure check in to ensure the Worker has sustained pre-injury employment
  • Assist the Injured worker and Employer to meet their Return to Work obligations
  • Regularly consult and liaise with the Injured Worker, the Employer, Treating Practitioners and the Insurer
  • Regularly prepare and report on claims performance to the WHS Manager
  • Assess claims and incident data to identify safety issues / causative factors and where appropriate pass recommendations to the WHS Advisor for review
  • Conduct regular claims reviews and audits of the full claim portfolio incl. claims within the first 12 weeks ensuring issues are escalated appropriately
  • As required liaise with external rehabilitation providers regarding progress of RTW
  • Provide information regarding the WorkCover process to relevant parties
  • Coordinate the development of Injury & Claims toolkits, Injury packs and other materials
  • As and when required, assist the WHS and WorkCover team with the collection of information, footage, photos and general information relating to incidents and hazards
  • Filing various WorkCover and insurer documentation and emails
  • Continually monitor and maintain the suitable duties register and regularly review the job task descriptors
  • Support premiums, policies, payroll as needed

Qualifications and Experience

  • Workcover experience within VIC and NSW highly desirable.
  • 3-5 years experience in WorkCover claims
  • Either Tertiary qualified in WHS and Injury management; OR well experienced in the WorkCover functions of Injury and Claims Management, WorkCover Premiums, WorkCover Policies and WorkCover Payroll Processing
  • WorkCover payroll processing
  • Strong administration and systems experience
  • RTW Coordinator course
  • Sound knowledge of Accident Compensation Legislation
  • Experience interacting with various levels of business stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge with the Microsoft Office/Teams suite and general PC use
  • Confident user of technology and online systems
