About the role

  • State Development & Strategic Stakeholder Collaboration: Lead state-wide operational performance by partnering with State Management and key stakeholders, using data, insights, and store feedback to identify priorities, support head office initiatives, and drive consistent execution across the state.
  • Operational Improvement & Performance Insight: Analyse operational and financial trends to identify risks and opportunities, delivering strategic recommendations that improve profitability, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth through targeted reviews of high-impact areas including stock control, space utilisation, workflows, and customer service.
  • Team Leadership, Capability & Compliance Uplift: Conduct structured state visits to assess performance, compliance, and operational standards, building store capability through targeted training, process optimisation guidance, and clear action planning that delivers measurable and sustainable improvement.

 

Reporting directly to National SOS Support Manager the incumbent will need to ensure all responsibilities are completed successfully and delivered in line with business requirements

Functional Responsibilities

STORE OPERATIONS & SUPPORT
• Oversee Stock Management Practices: Ensure teams are supporting stores to follow correct stock procedures, including ordering, invoicing, and rationalisation, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Project Oversight & Implementation: Supervise the rollout of new initiatives, audits, and store projects, ensuring consistency, adherence to company standards, and timely execution.eg. Storeforce, DCC, ESL.
• Strategic Support & Initiative Development: Collaborate with stores and head office to develop programs and projects that strengthen state-wide operational efficiency and overall team performance.

COMPLIANCE
• Leading your state team in visiting stores to assess how each store is complying with company standards for Stock Management, Catalogue & Promotional Execution and merchandising
• Working with the Store Support Compliance team and State Management, in preparation for compliance and national store visits organising schedules.
• Report follow up notes and results and utilise insights to create structured action plans to work on with State Management teams to ensure alignment with National standards.

STORE SETUPS OR RELAYS
• Provide high-level oversight of store development activities across the state, ensuring all new store setups, refits, relays and merchandising programs are delivered to company standards and within required timelines.
• Review the execution of store category layouts, planograms and merchandising standards completed by the team, identifying opportunities for operational improvement, efficiency, and consistency across stores.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of SOS team members during project execution, providing guidance, feedback, and development support to ensure high-quality outcomes statewide.

Teamwork and relationships

• Foster effective collaboration with Store Operations & Support, State Managers, store owners, Distribution Centres, and other head office departments to ensure seamless operational support across the business.
• Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with all stores, DC teams, and internal departments, ensuring open communication and consistent alignment on priorities.
• Contribute to a positive, solutions-focused team culture by communicating proactively, sharing knowledge, and supporting colleagues to achieve collective goals.
• Demonstrate a proactive and adaptable approach to teamwork, maintaining a ‘can-do’ attitude when addressing challenges, implementing new initiatives, or assisting cross-functional teams.
• Support the coordination of state and national objectives by working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to drive improvements, enhance operational efficiencies, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
