About the role

We’re looking for a talented Senior Copywriter to join Chemist Warehouse’s Digital Experience team within the Content stream. In this role, you’ll play an integral role in the content ideation, planning and creation of editorial content for our new in-house blog – a destination where we bring to life stories across Beauty, Health and Wellness. You will work alongside the Content Manager as the voice for the channel: bringing creativity, trend-led and strategic insight to curate conversations of product discovery that resonate with our Chemist Warehouse community.

Reporting into the Content Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading of the production of article copy, in-house photography and the design of blog article content and assisting in the channel management of article programming.

  • Actively contributing to the content ideation and planning of blog article programming for the channel, ideating content ideas that align with the channel strategy and commercial objectives of the business and our suppliers.

  • Produce engaging product-led trend driven blog articles, to educate and inspire our customers through conversations of product discovery – ensuring every story aligns with our brand voice.

  • Pitch creative, culturally relevant content ideas – keeping a pulse on culture, language trends and coming up with article concepts that our community wants to read.

  • Develop clear, impactful and engaging copy that brings to life Chemist Warehouse’s brand voice and vision across our blog, website and digital marketing channels.

  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing & Activations to ideate brand stories for our suppliers, striking a balance between meeting brief requirements and alignment Chemist Warehouse’s brand direction, tone of voice and the content strategy of the channel.

Building relationships with stakeholders across the business to gather insights to inform article concepts based on product trends, data and analytics, or customer needs.

What we are looking for

You’re a natural storyteller and creative thinker – passionate about crafting meaningful content to engage, educate and inspire audiences. You’ve got your finger on the pulse, always scrolling to discover the latest beauty, health, wellness and lifestyle trends. You understand how to translate brand strategy into meaningful, clever, on-brand copy and connect with our customers through conversations of product discovery:

  • 5+ years' experience in copywriting or content creation (agency or in-house), paired with an understanding of content marketing and the production of editorial content.
  • A tertiary qualification in Communications, Creative Writing, Marketing or similar.
  • Highly organised and ability to manage competing tasks and deadlines with confidence.
  • Experienced working in a campaign marketing environment and the production of content.
  • A sharp eye for detail and lover of well-crafted language, confident producing long-form editorial content within a fast-paced retail environment.
  • A strong understanding of grammar, style conventions, brand voice and knack for clear, clean and clever language.
  • Ability to write for a variety of audiences – you can easily pivot tone, depending on the requirements of the brief.
  • Experienced in content ideation by bringing fresh, culturally relevant and trend-driven ideas to the table – you’re passionate about crafting new creative ways to bring a story to life to engage an audience.
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment – you're a thoughtful communicator and love to contribute your creative ideas.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively and foster relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Background in editorial copywriting; or, experience producing beauty, health-related (wellness) or lifestyle content. 
  • Content creation skills – experience with lo-fi photography or producing content for social media platforms. 
  • Experience in campaign management or marketing strategy, or project management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and producing optimised content for web, the ability to liaise with our agency to conduct keyword research and improve content visibility.

We have a hybrid working arrangement, so you'll need to be based in Melbourne. Our office is in Preston.
