About the Team

The Chemist Warehouse People & Culture (P&C) Advisory team are a key group within the wider People & Culture directorate. The Advisory team are a collaborative, supportive and developing team, primarily tasks with supporting leaders and employees across our Head Office Support Service teams, Stores and Distribution Centres for a variety of employment lifecycle needs post onboarding.

The primary aspects of service of the P&C Advisory team include – provision of tailored advice and coaching on performance and conduct matters, investigating grievances, risk mitigation and compliance, contributing to the development of leaders, promoting a healthy work environment, along with interpretation and ensuring the correct application of policies, procedures, and industrial instruments.

 

About the Role:

  • End to end case-management – overseeing the full lifecycle
  • Fostering excellent rapport and developing productive working relationships with all key stakeholders in the portfolio and beyond
  • Being a key point of contact for the provision of information and guidance on a range of people and employment matters for leaders and employees
  • Providing responsive operational and technical support for leaders in the response, management and investigation of employee grievances and other workplace matters, including the appropriate application of industrially sound disciplinary outcomes, and timely implementation of any local or organisational continuous improvement arising from any learnings
  • Drafting or oversight of formal correspondence from leaders or the organisation to employees
  • Securely storing and maintaining accurate records relating to people management and other key employment matters
  • Coaching and mentoring leaders to effectively manage performance-related issues, ensuring consolidation of learnings across matters as they arise
  • Advising stakeholders on matters requiring interpretation of employment legislation, company policies and procedures, along with Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve P&C practice, process and service delivery methods – particularly where these further mitigate risk.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience as a P&C Advisor / Generalist, with a deep knowledge and capability in the employee relations space
  • A proactive approach to work with the self-motivation and drive to achieve, backed-up with grit and resilience to see tasks through to completion
  • Proficient knowledge of employment legislation and Modern Awards
  • Sound ability to interpret legislation and to provide advice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised and with an attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and ensure no ball gets dropped
  • The ability and confidence to influence colleagues and the decisions of senior stakeholders
  • Strong tech skills and digital literacy
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources or related field essential
  • Experience in retail, pharmaceutical or other service-based industries ideal but not essential
