Internally known as a People & Culture Advisor, this position specialises in providing advisory support to stakeholders on a variety of Workplace Relations matters, rather than generalist advisory. 

 

Working in this fast-paced environment with a variety of employment matters across our store network, head office and distribution centres based in NSW and ACT, this will be a full-time position based at our Preston head office. 
 

About the role

Reporting to a dedicated P&C Business Partner, the responsibilities of the Advisor include:

  • Fostering excellent rapport and developing productive working relationships with all key stakeholders located across NSW & ACT. 
  • Being a key point of contact for leaders and team members, providing information and guidance on a range of people and employment matters.
  • Supporting and coaching leaders in the response, management and investigation of employee grievances and other workplace matters, including the appropriate application of industrially sound disciplinary outcomes, and timely implementation of any local or organisational continuous improvement.
  • Drafting formal correspondence from leaders or the organisation to team members.
  • Advising stakeholders on matters requiring interpretation of employment legislation, company policies and procedures, along with Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve workplace practices, processes and service delivery methods.

 

We have ongoing and fixed term opportunities for up to 12-months available.

We require all team members to work onsite 4-days per week, with 1-day work-from-home. Some occasional travel will be required to support the NSW & ACT portfolio. 

About you

To thrive in this role, the successful applicant will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Degree-qualified in Human Resources, Business Management, Psychology or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience as a P&C Advisor, with a passion for Employment Relations. 
  • A proactive approach to work with the self-motivation and drive to achieve, resilience and curiosity to see tasks through to completion.
  • Proficient knowledge and interpretation of employment legislation and Modern Awards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised and with an attention to detail and the ability to prioritise urgent tasks.
  • The ability and confidence to influence colleagues and the decisions of senior stakeholders.
  • Strong technology skills and digital literacy.
  • Experience working in retail, pharmaceutical or other service-based industry is ideal, however not essential.
