The Opportunity
We are looking for a Payroll Officer to join our Payroll team and support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across a large, complex and fast-paced business. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll activities, maintaining employee records, managing payroll queries, supporting compliance requirements and assisting with audits across leave, superannuation and related payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting into the Payroll team, your key responsibilities will include:
- Take ownership of the payroll process by reviewing payroll and direct payment reports to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
- Maintain and update payroll system data, ensuring all employee records are accurate, compliant, and up to date.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for payroll queries, providing clear advice and solutions to employees and key stakeholders.
- Process payments through online banking platforms with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by supporting employees with payroll-related enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct regular audits of annual leave, personal leave, and long service leave in line with relevant legislation and agreements.
- Manage complex payroll transactions, including back pays, Lump Sum E payments, and superannuation adjustments.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience in a high-volume payroll environment
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, legislation, compliance requirements, awards and agreements
- Experience using payroll systems such as PayGlobal and UKG Pro T&A, or similar
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with payroll data
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
- A proactive, customer-focused approach when supporting employees and stakeholders
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to team knowledge and continuous improvement
