In this highly visible role as National Transport Route Planner, you'll combine data-driven decision-making, operational expertise and stakeholder collaboration to ensure our customers receive the right products, at the right time, through the most efficient routes possible. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining optimised transport routes that maximise fleet utilisation, reduce delivery costs and enhance service performance.

Working closely with transport providers, distribution centres, operations teams and key stakeholders, you will monitor route performance, resolve operational challenges and identify continuous improvement opportunities that drive measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain optimised transport routes that improve delivery efficiency and reduce kilometres travelled, fuel consumption and overall transport costs.
• Schedule and coordinate shipments to meet customer expectations and operational requirements.
• Monitor transport activities and proactively resolve delivery issues before they impact customers.
• Analyse route performance, identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with carriers and third-party logistics providers to ensure service excellence and on-time delivery performance.
• Verify shipment accuracy and compliance with operational standards.
• Generate reporting and insights on network performance, route optimisation and cost management.
• Provide recommendations that improve transport efficiency, service levels and network capability.
• Handle customer enquiries and delivery-related escalations professionally and effectively.
• Support strategic transport planning initiatives that contribute to business growth and operational excellence.

You are an experienced logistics professional who combines strong analytical capability with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. You enjoy solving complex operational challenges and using data to drive smarter business decisions.

To be successful, you will bring:

• Experience working in transport, logistics, route planning or supply chain operations.
• Experience using route optimisation software and transport management systems.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and transport network operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Advanced organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service focus and the ability to build effective relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
• High-level Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and reporting tools.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement.
• A tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
