About The Role

Our IT Infrastructure team is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer who will contribute to strategic initiatives, continuous improvement, and ongoing technical operations. Furthermore, they will provide support, guidance, and coaching to other teams within the organisation to maximise solution value. The team member will strive to empower others through foundational platforms and services.

The position reports to the Cloud & Platform Services Manager and will also work closely with internal team members, external vendors, and partners.

Role Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams to plan, design, and implement solutions across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Proactively monitor and operate infrastructure systems and solutions.
  • Produce and maintain knowledge and technical resources for the delivery and operations of technology solutions.
  • Contribute to the resolution, root cause analysis, and preventative measures of alerts and incidents.
  • Identify, assess, and share risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Validate and remediate solution compliance with organisation policies and our regulatory environment.
  • Oversee and provide feedback on solution deliverables.
  • Design infrastructure, platform, and tooling solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Implement and maintain controls and processes to provide prompt feedback on quality.
  • Administer and enhance tools for technical delivery and operations.

About You

To succeed in this role, the candidate will need:

  • Extensive experience with System Engineering practices. This role contributes to our technology strategy. They'll need hands-on experience of what does and doesn't work to succeed.
  • A robust knowledge of the Microsoft stack, particularly with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, M365, and messaging services.
  • Expertise with networking services such as DNS and DHCP.
  • A sound understanding of technical delivery tools such as Source Control Management (SCM) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
  • Exposure to system design principles. This role will be required to contribute to end-to-end system design.
