Title: E-Commerce Manager
E-Commerce Manager
Be part of building Ireland’s newest and most exciting retail e-commerce launch.
Job Summary
Chemist Warehouse Ireland will launch its first e-commerce platform in 2026 — a major strategic step that will accelerate our growth, expand our reach nationwide, and strengthen our position as Ireland’s number one pharmacy retailer.
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on E-Commerce Manager to lead the end-to-end online operation from the ground up. This role will build, launch, optimise, and grow the digital arm of the business, working closely with our colleagues in Chemist Warehouse Dubai, who have successfully launched their own platform within the past year.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a brand-new revenue channel, create a best-in-class online customer experience, and play a pivotal role in the next phase of Chemist Warehouse Ireland’s expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Website & Digital Operations
-
Own the day-to-day management of the Chemist Warehouse Ireland online store.
-
Oversee all content updates including product uploads, pricing, promotions, campaigns, banners, and compliance-related content (e.g., pharmacy-restricted items).
-
Ensure the site is fully functional, mobile-optimised, and aligned with Chemist Warehouse brand guidelines.
-
Work with internal IT and external platform partners to resolve technical issues quickly and maintain high uptime and strong site performance.
-
Plan and execute seasonal campaigns, monthly catalogue offers, flash sales, and product launches.
Merchandising & Stock Management
-
Manage the full online product range, ensuring accurate categorisation, descriptions, imagery, and pricing.
-
Partner with warehouse teams to monitor stock levels and prevent out-of-stocks or overselling.
-
Analyse SKU performance and optimise product listings to improve conversion and sales velocity.
-
Ensure online merchandising aligns with in-store promotions and catalogue cycles.
Digital Marketing & Growth
-
Partner with the Marketing team to develop and execute digital strategies including paid media, SEO, social commerce, email marketing, and affiliate activity.
-
Track and optimise key performance levers (traffic, CVR, AOV, ROAS, basket abandonment).
-
Build strategies to drive customer acquisition, retention, and repeat purchase.
-
Contribute to the development of omnichannel features over time (click & collect, loyalty integrations, etc.)
Order Fulfilment & Logistics
-
Manage the full online order lifecycle — from order placement to picking, packing, dispatch, and final delivery.
-
Work closely with warehouse leaders, online fulfilment teams, and courier partners to ensure fast, accurate, pharmacy-compliant delivery.
-
Implement processes to minimise failed deliveries, returns, chargebacks, and operational inefficiencies.
-
Develop SLAs and track fulfilment KPIs to ensure a consistently excellent experience.
Customer Experience & Service
-
Oversee the resolution of all online customer queries relating to orders, payments, delivery, returns, and product information.
-
Continuously review the UX and checkout journey to remove friction and improve conversion.
-
Develop clear policies (returns, refunds, exchanges, delivery tiers, etc.) that balance customer experience with operational feasibility.
-
Own customer satisfaction scores, reviews, and online reputation management.
Reporting, Insights & Optimisation
-
Track performance daily/weekly across revenue, funnels, customer behaviour, campaign results, and operational KPIs.
-
Conduct competitor benchmarking and keep updated on e-commerce, retail, and pharmacy sector trends.
-
Present insights and recommendations regularly to leadership.
-
Use data to drive decision-making, prioritisation, and continuous improvement.
People Management
-
Lead and develop a small but growing e-commerce team, setting clear expectations and providing regular coaching and feedback.
-
Plan and allocate work effectively across content, fulfilment, and customer service to ensure smooth daily operations.
-
Recruit, onboard, and train new team members as the e-commerce function scales.
-
Build strong cross-functional relationships with Marketing, Warehouse, IT, and Store Operations, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
-
Role-model Chemist Warehouse standards and hold the team accountable for delivery, professionalism, and customer-first behaviours.
