Title: Demand Planning Co-Ordinator
Turn data into decisions that keep Australia's healthcare supply chain moving
At Sigma Healthcare, we play an essential role in helping Australians access the medicines and healthcare products they need. Supporting leading pharmacy brands including Chemist Warehouse, Amcal and Discount Drug Stores, we're continuing to invest in our people, technology and supply chain capability to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers nationwide.
We're looking for a Demand Planning Coordinator to join our Operations Planning team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong analytical capability and a passion for supply chain planning to build their career within one of Australia's largest healthcare supply chains. While the role has a primary focus on demand planning and forecasting, you'll also gain exposure to supply planning, inventory optimisation and supplier collaboration, giving you the opportunity to develop broader end-to-end planning expertise.
A day in the life of a Demand Planning Coordinator:
As a key member of the Operations Planning team, you'll support the forecasting and planning processes that ensure the right products are available when and where customers need them.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development and maintenance of demand forecasts through analysis of sales trends, historical performance and market insights.
- Managing new product launch planning, store allocations and promotional forecasting activities.
- Monitoring forecast performance and identifying risks and opportunities to improve forecast accuracy.
- Producing reports, planning insights and performance analysis for stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, Category, Supply Planning and Supplier partners to align plans and assumptions.
- Supporting inventory health and product availability outcomes across the portfolio.
- Maintaining planning data and working within systems such as SAP IBP and SAP.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning processes and forecasting accuracy.
Who are we looking for?
You'll bring a curious mindset, strong commercial awareness and a passion for using data to solve problems. We're interested in candidates who have:
- Experience in demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, supply planning or analytical supply chain roles.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to identify trends and provide meaningful insights.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with planning or ERP systems.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to SAP, SAP IBP, APO or similar planning platforms.
- Experience within FMCG, retail, pharmaceutical or wholesale environments.
- Understanding of demand planning, supply planning or S&OP processes.
Interested in Supply Planning?
Alongside this opportunity, we're also recruiting for a Supply Planner within the same Operations Planning team. If your experience is more aligned to supplier management, replenishment planning, inventory optimisation and supply continuity, we'd still love to hear from you. Our recruitment team will consider suitable applicants across both opportunities.
What the Supply Planner will be doing:
No two days are the same, but you can expect to:
- Review sales trends and forecasting performance across your categories.
- Meet with Marketing, Category and Commercial teams to understand upcoming activity.
- Investigate inventory risks and product availability challenges.
- Partner with suppliers and planning colleagues to align demand and supply plans.
- Analyse data and provide recommendations that improve forecast accuracy and customer service outcomes.
Who are we looking for?
You might be an Analyst, Planner, Inventory Coordinator, Supply Planner or recent Supply Chain graduate looking to take the next step in your career.
You'll thrive in this role if you:
- Enjoy working with data and turning insights into actions.
- Are naturally curious and love solving problems.
- Can build strong relationships across different teams.
- Have a strong eye for detail and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- Want to develop your career in demand planning, forecasting and end-to-end supply chain management.
