About the role

Based at our Head Office in Preston, the Data Entry team forms part of our broader Finance team who manage the finances and accounts for our stores and head office entities.  As a Data Entry Officer, you will perform a range of accounting and clerical tasks to process and maintain the accuracy of the data that sits within our financial management and accounting systems. More specifically, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

 

  • Processing high volumes of data, including coding items against General Ledger accounts
  • Compiling, sorting and verifying the accuracy of information before it is entered
  • Entering large amounts of data into the system at-pace and with precision
  • Validating that data and GST values are being entered into the correct entity record
  • Undertaking other administrative requests when required.

About You

This is a role that requires someone with outstanding attention to detail who can process and action a large volume of information with speed and accuracy. To be successful, you will need to have knowledge and experience using accounting software in a high-volume, high-paced environment.  In the selection process, we will be looking for candidate who can demonstrate the following: 

 

  • Accounting software knowledge – experience with General Ledger coding will be very highly regarded
  • The highest level of attention to detail
  • The ability to work at speed but whilst maintaining accuracy
  • Confidentiality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
