Canteen Assistant (Casual) - Albert's Basement Cafe

Albert’s Basement Cafe is the in-house café serving staff and visitors at the Chemist Warehouse Head Office in Preston! We’re a small, friendly team that takes pride in delivering quality food and drinks and keeping the café running smoothly—and we’re currently looking for a reliable and motivated casual Canteen Assistant / Barista to join us.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service, and takes pride in keeping things clean, organised, and efficient.

What You'll Be Doing:

Making coffees and serving food and beverages
Adding new foods and ideas to the canteen menu and specials list
Handling cash and providing friendly customer service
Checking stock for expiry dates and monitoring supplies
Cleaning the kitchen and café area regularly
Ordering stock, stacking and replenishing (some heavy lifting involved)
Preparing and cooking hot foods as required
Taking pre-orders for lunch

What We're Looking For:

Previous Barista experience is essential for this role
Previous canteen or similar customer service experience is required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and good organisational skills
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
