About the Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Barista to join our café team. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for creating outstanding coffee, providing exceptional customer service, and helping maintain the welcoming atmosphere Albert's Basement Café is known for.

Working alongside a supportive team, you'll play an important part in ensuring every customer enjoys a positive café experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve consistently high-quality espresso-based coffee and other beverages.
• Deliver friendly, efficient, and professional customer service.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and process payments.
• Assist with food preparation and presentation when required.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked café environment.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
• Open and close the café as required.
• Work collaboratively with the café team to deliver a seamless service during busy periods.
• Contribute to creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers and colleagues alike.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys making great coffee and providing a great customer experience. 

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Previous experience as a Barista in a busy café environment.
• Confidence operating commercial espresso machines and adjusting grind and extraction as needed.
• A passion for coffee and delivering consistently excellent beverages.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the wider team.
• The ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• A current Food Safety Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
