Chemist Warehouse New Zealand is seeking a proactive and analytical Demand Planning & Inventory Analyst to help drive supply chain excellence across our network. this is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring product availability, forecasting accuracy and optimized inventory- ultimately supporting customer satisfaction and strong business performance. 

Job Description

Demand Planning & Forecasting

  • Develop and maintain item-level forecasts using sales history, trends, promotions and market date.
  • Collaborate with category buyers and suppliers to enhance forecasts with real- time business intelligence 
  • Track and improve forecast accuracy (MAPE, forecast bias)
  • Align forecasts with category strategies and promotions 

Inventory Management 

  • Analyse inventory across stores and distribution centres to avoid stockouts, overstocks or deadstock
  • Drive effective stock allocation, replenishment and promotional planning 
  • lead inventory performance reviews and corrective action initiatives 

Analytics & Reporting 

  • Build and automate dashboards for key supply chain KPI 
  • Perform product segmentation using ABC and XYZ analyses to prioritize inventory management and planning

  • Ensure data accuracy and drive reporting enhancements

  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to support wider supply chain initiatives

 

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in demand planning and inventory analysis within a high-SKU, fast-moving FMCG environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data validation-essential 
  • Experience with Power BI for dashboard development, data modeling, and visual reporting is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with key FMCG supply chain metrics such as service levels, inventory turns, and shelf availability.
  • CPIM or CSCP certification is beneficial.
